• Birthday Celebrations

Birthdays will be celebrated in the classrooms. We encourage parents to attend birthday celebrations. Birthday celebrations generally take place at 10:45 during group time. If this time does not work for your family, please contact your child’s teacher to reschedule. A reminder will be sent home in advance that will include the date of celebration as well as the number of treats to prepare. If you are unsure what to bring, a few suggestions include: muffins, fruit kabobs, cookies, mini cupcakes, rice crispy treats, and brownies. To make is easier and fair when passing out the special treat we ask that you send the same snack for all children. Please no rings or toys on the snack. For those children whose birthdays fall during summer vacation, we will celebrate their half-birthday.

For children with allergies, we ask that you provide a small amount of special treats for us to keep on hand for your child.

On the day of the celebration we ask that you provide a short biography of your child’s life. Feel free to include pictures with the biography.

    Sample biography:

Sam was born on July 13th, 2011. It was a sunny and hot day. Sam’s big sister, Rosie, was so excited to finally meet him. Sam loved to be rocked when he was a baby.

When Sam was 1 year old, he loved to eat strawberries. His favorite thing to do was to be pushed on the swing when we went to the park.

When Sam turned 2 years old, his little brother Zack was born. Sam loved to give Zack kisses. His favorite song was Twinkle, Twinkle little star. When Sam was two he wanted to play outside everyday – even in the winter!

When Sam was 3 years old, he started going to Small World Montessori School. His favorite work was table scrubbing. At 3, Sam loves books more than anything! He reads The Hungry Caterpillar every day.

Now Sam is 4 years old. Sam loves to write his name. He just learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. His favorite work is the Metal Insets. Happy Birthday Sam!
